NB: I forgot to mention this on the episode, but speaking of unrealized artistic opportunities, during the same trip on which Mary Shelley started Frankenstein, Lord Byron wrote a sketch of a Balkan vampire story, which inspired John Polidori to write The Vampyre, which of course inspired generations of imitations, including Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which of course inspired Nosferatu. So there.
